front floorboards for 90 gmc jimmy

I've looked high and low for new floorboards to no avail. Anybody have any ideas?

A-Sheet metal and a good welder.

B-Find a new body shell

C- Move and buy a new-to-you one.

These things rust very badly down there. Extremely common in these snowy winter areas up here in the north. Illinois is like Michigan last I knew, so road salt is the culprit. Gotta love it.

I'm moving and buying my K5 later when I get to somewhere else that doesn't have as much snow and no road salt.

How bad are they? Do the seats in your k5 feel like rocking chairs?

If it's just the part in front of the front seat then a truck one will do. The rest of it will have to be hand fabricated to my knowledge.

yes they feel like rocking chairs, I have managed to find a place that sells the drivers side and the cargo area but I'm still looking for the passenger side. I would have waited for a better climate but I love this truck!

my buddy Joe had big whole sin teh floor itself where you put your feet. the seat was ok though. It was big enough that while driving one day we funbled a CD and the CD fell through and the jewel case followed it out. He took some metal from an old road sign and bent it to fit and welded it in there. Also for his doubler stick he put a peice of foam down and then bolted a old mud flap down over the tunnel to keep the heat out. Kinda jimmy-rigged but it works
