Re: Everyone please read

Honestly, I think the OT stuff is part of the "charm" that makes the SFA forum what it is, but I'd never want it to get like the IFS forum.

<font color=green>I agree, and it's not like I'm trying to totally get rid of it. I just thought that it would be nice to have a forum where you could talk about whatever without fear of people complaining about it being O/T, and also thought it would be cool to have a place where one could ask about, say, beadlocks, and get response from a broader cross section of people.

The O/T forum willalso give the post whores somewhere else to post their meaningless drivel, rather than doing it in the real forums.

Great idea, and I hope it works. I enjoy reading the technically educational dialogue, without searching for an hour through the dribble of bs to find it. If you hurt the feelings of the 'post whores' by calling a fish a fish then so be it.

Re: Everyone please read

I'd like to see a board dedicated to engines. I'm sure there are people that are knowledgeable about different motors. I mean, someone that now sits in the Toyota arena might know a lot about GM's motors but doesn't want to read the GM fullsize and midsize boards. Besides, a lot of people crossbreed their vehicles anyway (more Jeeps around where I live are powered by Chevrolet than not). It'd give people a way to find out if certain combinations work and it'd give people with less commonly tweaked engines a way to share information.

I know I can't be the only one that looks somewhere besides ORC for information first. In fact, most of the time it's a last ditch effort. It'd be nice to change that.

Re: Everyone please read

To be truthfull....I kinda liked only having 2 boards to read though because I am lazy. We start having engine boards and suspention boards and the like it becomes kinda a pain to keep track of it all. The general 4x4 board is nice to get lotsa oppinions on stuff that aint specific like beadlocks and such. I kinda liked the BSing that when along with this board(but it does make searching kinda a pain)

Re: Everyone please read

Well, unlike anything I can think of, engines are the only thing that are pretty universal. Sure, a lot of people can tell you what cam to put in your motor (that they probably read out of a magazine) but not a lot of people can tell you what will and won't work. There are even fewer that have tried oddball setups.

I'm just happy with what we've got. It's a lot better than nothing and the people are pretty knowledgeable.
