four shocks,is it stock??

I was looking at the front wheels of the truck from the side when I noticed that theres another shock.Front has 4 shocks total! Is this stock??The shock mounts on the differential looks stock..The first shock looks the same as my 1/2 ton Suburban and the second goes on the right of it(looking from the driver side)and more tilted to the back(a bit more than 45 degrees)..Where can I get more info about his..The truck is an 86 Suburban K25 14 bolt SF,TH400,Front looks like a 10 bolt(doesnt have the ridge on the cover)..

Thanks

Daz

I know they were options in all trucks with diesels (most have it anyways) and 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks with the snow plow package.

Oh, I didn't know that. Must be some sort of options package. GM is weird like that.

I found Jesus too, he's on The Comedy Channel ever Wednesday night.

Re: four shocks,is it stock??

My '85 3/4 gas K20 has 'em. I'm not sure of the full advantage of them but I know that you have to pay for two more shocks when you replace!

Re: four shocks,is it stock??

It's pretty common on commercial trucks.

It's part of the plow package on pickups. Usually they came with heavier leafs and quad shocks (and sometimes an auxilary trans cooler). My 84K10 came with such.
