Possibly have Rockwells by Sept!!!

OK, I have found a Federal agency in San Antonio selling Deuce and a Halves at auction. The current bid for the non-running, but complete truck is $50.00 dollars. I can't get this one because I can't make the drive out to get it in the allotted time because I will be playing GI Joe in the desert the week I would have to pick it up. But, he will have 6 or 8 more in the next month going to the block! I could have me one or more Duece and a Halves come september for axles, t-case(maybe tranny too since it has over drive) and drive shafts!! My friend that is going to help with the swap is urging me towards coil springs instead of leaves so you all might see a pretty kick arse shortenned wheelbase, coilsprung, rockwelled, crewcab cruising the trails not far down the road.

LOL, its cool desert.

My name on there is CyberRube2.

But what I PLAN to bid on is my next daily driver. My dad works with the USDA in Weslaco and theres a truck there thats going up for AUCTION soon. My dad knows the guy in charge of the vehicles. Its a Mid 80's 3/4ton 4x4 CHevrolet. I'm hoping to pick it up. I'm just waiting for it to go on.

I've also seen the dueces yoru talking about in HOUSTON right. the KAISER's? NICE RIGS

Re: Possibly have Rockwells by Sept!!!

Actually the ones I saw are in San Antonio. I am in El Paso and the drive to Huston would be too much. San Antonio is going to kill me in gas anyway. I plan on borrowing a tow bar from work and hooking up a tow pintle to my truck and just towing the thing home.

I've been dreaming of those 2 1/2 ton trucks too, they are mean and big. Plus those lift laws can't touch them, they're big enough with huge tire clearance...

Re: Possibly have Rockwells by Sept!!!

Yeah, I want to get one with a flat bed with stake sides for work. Make hauling lumber and pretty much anything else easy as pie. Plus it would tow anything. Best part, they run 3-5 grand completely fixed up and painted.
