EFI conversion

I have a 1977 Chevy 1 ton van. I want to put TBI on it. I need to know what year intake manifold and TBI system to get and from which truck. I appreciate the help.

Re: EFI conversion

<font color=blue>I am currently putting a 91 tuned port efi setup from a camaro onto my 71 blazer. TBI started in 87, so a TBI intake will have to be machined to fit on your heads since the 4 center intake bolt holes are at a different angle. Since you are using TBI, you can get a 4 bbl to TBI adapter plate from Holley and put a GM throttle body on your current intake. I went with multiport efi so I needed to machine the intake. TBI was pretty much the same from 87 until 95, even on cars. You need a fuel pump with 24 psi of pressure, you need to make a return line to the tank, mount the throttle body and all the sensors, a TBI distributor since the computer controls advance, you need to put an O2 sensor in the exhaust and you need to wire it. I preffer to use factory harnesses, but companies like Centech, Painless Wiring, Turbo City and others make harnesses which are marked. Just plug it in and make a few connections and your done. If you have any more questions just ask

Re: EFI conversion

Thanks for the info. My van has no pollution controls on it. Is there a TBI setup that doesn't have EGR? Thanks.

Re: EFI conversion

<font color=blue>The EGR is on the intake manifold on TBI. You can run without it, but you have to have the EGR programed out of the chip
