Shackle reversle and shackle lift

I am goiing to be helping a pal do a shackle reversel to the rear of his 1/2 ton chev and a shakle lift in the front. I figure that it would gine him about 4-5 in. My question is, Has anyone here done this? What degree of shims should I have him get, just so he doesn't come back later and have me install those as well. Thanks for any posts that may help, Rien

<font face="Times New Roman">
<font color=green>A shackle lift in the front that's good for 4-5 inches? So the new shackes are going to be 8-10 inches longer for a total shackle length of about 14-16 inches? Not only is this horrifyingly dangerous, but the front driveshaft would probably not hook up, and the steering would be a truely frightening thing to behold. It would have an extreme amount of caster, the wheels would not want to return to center, they'd want to turn one way or the other all the time. Anyways, the most lift you can realistically get in the front from shackles is about an inch, maybe 1.5". 1.5 would be 3" longer shackles, and even that would goof up the steering geometry a fair amount.
