Anybody used Herculiner?

I had a post get pirated from the IFS forum, so I'm gonna link it to here. Have any of you used Herculiner? I am thinking of using it for the bed of my Dodge, and if I like it then the floor of the K20. Any comments/ suggestions/info ...... the good, the bad, and the ugly?

I know Shorts and Willyswanter have used it with success, I just want to see if any of the rest of you have used it?

Re: Anybody used Herculiner?

herculiner, the roll on stuff right?
used it on my car trailer, its not something i would consider for my pickup anymore, since the stuff "rubs" off farily easy (im not talking about the blown up semi tire i ran over that left a big scratch on the side and a badly dented wheale well) i can already see the red color that the trailer was originally painted with coming through where cars drive onto it. but thats just my opinion.
but if you do use it, stir it with a stick or something real good, the sandy stuff sattles at the bottom and shaking doesn't help much.

Re: Anybody used Herculiner?

I used it on the interior of my CJ-5 and i really like it. The most important part of the process is the prep if you don't do a good prep it will peal off. A kit which contains one gallon was more than enough to do the interior of my Jeep, I used about three quarters of a galllon.

Re: Anybody used Herculiner?

I used it on my home amde front bumper. I looks good. After I applied it I had to paint it cause I couldnt get an even coat to save my live. I resondly hit a rock with my bumper and the herculiner came off like a week old scab. It just peeled off, I would never do it again. And yes I am positive I prepped the metal correctly.

Re: Anybody used Herculiner?

in response to 94GMCs post about it rubbing off...i had that happen to. if you wipe your hand across the surface, your hand gets black stuff...so that's why i mentioned in the other post to apply the UV stuff too. thats what i did and it fixed that trouble.

of course, it would be nice if herculiner just formulated the stuff with the UV junk already in it.....but that would be too easy
