Rear spring lift How To ?

Howdy, busted my butt trying to install 4" rear springs today, rear portion of the spring with the shackle won't come down to the mount, jacked the body up and still couldn't reach! Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it ?

Re: Rear spring lift How To ?

Yeah, that's a problem sometimes with arched springs. I have never had to deal with it myself, but I know it can be a pain. One thing I would try is to place something like a 2x4 between the frame or body and the spring. Get the truck up a little, wedge the board or whatever you use in there and lower the truck until (hopefully) it pushes the bushing down into the frame mount. be careful though, since the spring is going to be compressed. You may want to tie a short length of rope around the spring pack on each end and run it across to the other side, and tie it off, so that if the spring pops loose it does not come your way. Anyway, that's about all I can think of for now. Good luck.
