New Dually Idea?

Hey, i was just thinking, has anyone added dually fenders, kept the stock axle configuration, and then just ran WIDE rear tires? I'm guessing it would reduce the amount the fenders would have to be trimmed, and you could get a lot better rear traction (2WD Guys take note ). that would bring up the problem of not always having a full size spare (front and rear would be different) and it would also bring up tire rotation issues. Just an idea i wanted to throw out there!

Yeah, theres a truck here that is a long bed reg. cab chevy with the fiberglass dually fenders on it. It's running those like 18" wide M/T drag radials out back that take up the whole fender. Truck is the 91-94 style and it has a huge engine with a blower sticking through the hood. He drives around on the street too.
