Never done any work on a manual tranny(short of swaping) but sometimes if you heat the case(keep the baring cool) the case will expand and the bearing will come out pretty easy. Becarfull about the heat though. Mabe someone will chime in.....mmmmm....burning gear oil in your appartment....might wana look for another a little fragrent for awhile

Re: How do I...

What's wrong with the smell of burning gear lube?

I'm not sure (it's been a while), but I think there is a C-clip that goes around the OD of the bearing (maybe that's on an NP205? Don't remember).

Try working it back and forth a bit at a time... smack it with a rubber mallet... use a sharpened chisel and try to pry it out (while working around the OD).

Re: How do I...

Hmm I have several different sized bearing pullers and a 10 ton puller.
That works for me.

Check out my webpage...
It has a section that covers the teardown and rebuild of the 465 4spd.

Re: How do I...

Yea, there's a C-Clip on the front. It's kind of hard to see though. It doesn't have anything to get hold of either, no ears. It's a real PITA to get out. You do have to take this out before pulling the berring.
