Drive shaft lengths. 77 lwb k-10

I'm looking for a longer (about 1.5") rear driveshaft for my truck. Th350/203 long bed. Are there any stock shafts that are longer (I don't mind shortening it).
Thanks,

Hans

<font color=green>Seems to me that the only one that would be longer would be from a crew cab, but I have no idea if the center support is in the same place. I assume the crew cab has one, but I'm not sure if you do...

<font color=green>You may have a hard time finding that one, the th350/205 is kind of a rare combo.

Hahaha, no wise cracks here. I'm just about ready to leave work so I'll crawl under there and measure it for ya. It might take me a while, its a long one .

Re: Drive shaft lengths. 77 lwb k-10

In its current position, the driveshaft measures 66" from center to center of the universal holes. While measuring a few thoughts came to mind. One my NP205 has a fixed yoke. I dont know if your NP203 has a fixed or slip yoke. With a slip yoke i dont think that a drive shaft like mine could be mated up. The other thing is that my truck is a 3/4 ton and has the 14bFF in the rear. This means that my universal joints are going to be larger than yours (if i remember correctly you have a 12 bolt rear). I know that they make adapter universals that allow 14 bolts on 1/2 ton drive shafts so you could mate the larger shaft to smaller rear, but still something to consider. I dont know if this combo was available in 1/2 ton applications or not. Hope some of this helps ya.

Re: Drive shaft lengths. 77 lwb k-10

Thanks, my 203 is the fixed yoke so it should work. I can always use an adapter u-joint until I get an axle upgrade.
Do you know approximately how much overlap you have on the slip portion?
Thanks,

Hans

Re: Drive shaft lengths. 77 lwb k-10

Mine is 60" fully extended, center to center of u-joint. Looks like I'll be hunting a 350/205/lwb drive shaft.
Thanks for your help
