On the road again....... Yeeehaaw

Just wanted to share a bit of the joy. Finally got the truck back on the road. I'm a bit disgruntled over the previous owner of my truck's stupidity but hey, stuff happens right.
Summary of events so far:

Truck won't move:
Previous owner-"Yeah buddy, the tranfer case is shot, I'll give ya a good deal on this thing".
Me-"Ok?" (easy fix, transmission not bolted to motor).

Truck won't idle:
Previous owner-"it's gotta a bad carberaiter"
me-"Alright" (carburator idle mixture screw adjustment)

Transmission leaks like a sieve:
Previous owner- "Prolly a seal or sumthin"
Me-"hmmm" (try inserting the dip stick tube into the transmission, not next to it)

Bad vibration during driving:
Axle shims turned the wrong way.
Transfer case mounts missing.
Motor mounts shot.
($34 for the mounts)

Rear end sloppy:
Rear axle internals destroyed due to lack of lubrication.

Thought it was just the pinion bearing but the the whole thing was toasted. Picked up complete 12 bolt internals for $25 on ck5, installed and checked back lash and gear mesh pattern, all is well and good.

She's back on the road again.....

Glad to hear that it was mostly easy and inexpensive fixes. Keep us posted on your truck...
