Swapping Doors Questions

I am going to be swapping the old doors off of my chevy in a couple of weeks to put some brand new ones on. Has anyone ever taken the guts out of one door and put it into another?
What would be the best way to do this? I am also going to be using the same door handles and lock.
Thanks

Zooman

Re: Swapping Doors Questions

You will need the little door handle removal tool, everything else just bolts in. I never moved the door handles though. Give everthing a good shot of spray lithium grease when you get done it will make the window go up smoothly.

why put on new doors? just do like me and take off the old ones and put them on the roof of your house to piss the neighbors off.

Re: Swapping Doors Questions

You should try it frank. the visiblity improvement is awesome. i went to the dunes yesterday and had a blast. I finaly got my front hubs fixed so i am a true 4X4 now). My truck kicks arse. Still slow though. a guy in a 1/2 ton with those "street lockers" bead locks beat me at the drags, but his engine sounded like it had a lot done to it. And people tend to stare a lot too.

Hey Frank do you mean the door handle on the outside of the door?
What does the tool look like?

Re: Swapping Doors Questions

You dont need the tool to take of the clips. Just use a flat head screw driver and pop it up some but becareful it may shoot off on you so be ready.

If it aint broke, keep fixing it till it is.
