Flatbed Version 3

Ok, tacky, but here it is. A good mock up of what it's going to look like.

3 Questions

- You need at minimum 2 taillights, not 4, right?
- How many lights are combined in the stock tail lights
- Is it safe to weld directly on a truck? What do you need to do as far as the electrical system is concerned?

Re: Flatbed Version 3

Hey Joe you need the brake lights, Reverse lights, And of course Turn signels, As far as I know those are the only ones you need. you should be able to get all these in only two lights total, Depending upon what style light you want to use. I don't know off the top of my head how many lights are in the stock lights. Or about welding on the frame, I'd think you'd want to dissconnected any ground wires from the frame though. Oh and I'm in the chat room right now if you want to chat.

Re: Flatbed Version 3

Im putting 4 red lights between the frame rails and 2 fog lights under the bed for back ups. The fogs will be pointing almost straight down to work as rock lights/back ups. I'll wire a switch onto them along with the wire from the tail light. I need to find out if my fff road lights are wired safe though. I also need to get my dual battery and alternator setup going.

I'm using my custom bumper as the rear support from frame to bed deck, and that has my liscence plate on it.

I'll work on pictures in study hall trying to explain it

I really appreciate the interest in this and all replies to this. Maybe it's becaus I like attention.

BTW - I have 2 new guesses for the origin of your name Shorts, beer cans and .22 cartridges.

Re: Flatbed Version 3

Oh yeah, after searching old Shorts post I found out what it means. But I guess since no one else is saying I won't either.

BAH! I tried looking back through the posts to find out the shorts mystery. I got right to the point where she changed it from just Shorts to Shorts <---It's not what you think. I also found the spot where she added "and don't ask what it is. I think she covered it up pretty well!
