Re: new Avalanche

if i could get a truck liikemy plastic car when i wsa 5 i would drive it. do you have any idea how much abuse those things take? adn they still hold up. hell, fisher-price is making better vehicles thatn GM. thats got to be embarrasing.
As for the locking differential...well it is a differential..and it is a lock...but its a Gov-Lock....RPO code G-80. most of us with the new trucks have it too...or did till the damn thing broke as its known to do. it easy to fix though..call No-Spin Inc....makers of detroit locker...they'll hook you up.

Re: new Avalanche

I don't usually like the looks of ANY new style when it first comes out.
But if you give it some time, and some aftermarket stuff comes out for it, throw a billet grill on there some KC's a 9" lift and some 38" swampers on Centerlines and I bet the thing would look pretty cool.
Now of course you still would not want to take it rock crawling but why would you take any brand new, $30K built for the general public, truck, rock crawling ?

Re: new Avalanche

I have never seen one in person, but I did see a comercial on TV I think they were even getting a little air, If it's the one I am thinking of.
The "sliding bed" thing sounds cool, who know's, maybe I would have to see one in person to understand ???
I have seen an Aztek and DAMN, I don't think it was beat with an "Ugly Stick", I think it fell Out of the "Ugly Tree" and hit EVERY branch on the way down !

Re: new Avalanche

I think that lifted one looks pretty good, throw on some of the new BFG KM's and it would be even better.

Re: new Avalanche

I think they are pretty awful as well. They are just too funky looking for me. I got a pretty good look at 'em last week when we bought my wife her '01 Tahoe 4x4. In fact, the salesman sold one to David Robinson of the Spurs, the day before. Guess he thought I would be impressed...showed me the pic. I'm not into basketball....or Avalanches! LOL... RC
