AC fixed

hey all, just wanted to share something that may help some of yall who have had or may have in the future ac problems. long story short, i have been without ac for over 2 years, no big deal to me, shop quoted me $1600 and told me whole system needed replacing. found local guy last week who works on ac and he replaced drier, accumulator, cycle switch and changed it over to r134 from r12 for $160 and it works perfect now. he said the cycle switch ($17) is the most common thing to go wrong on gm vehicles so if your ac quits blowing cold always or sometimes, check it out first! hope this helps someone. i will have my interior pics up as soon as i can find my scanner power cord!! Re: AC fixed

me too, those old bench seats suck, did you know they had a recall on them, most people werent aware till after they had to many miles on their trucks to gt them replaced.

Re: AC fixed

Recall on seats I have never heard of that, my 88 chev has a bench but my 88 GMC has 2 nice buckett seats but i often have others with me and the plastic console is starting to crack from people sitting on it.

Re: AC fixed

well, there is nothing wrong with my bench, just wanted the comfort of buckets and storage of console. i put in a lot of miles so wanted comfort and you know the stock bench isnt that. the newer ones are nice b/c theyre contoured but ours werent. i would be willing to sell the old bench real cheap as i dont really have room to store it but i have no idea how much shipping would be. i have a good pic of it i will post if i ever get my scanner hooked up
