Manual locking hubs question, HELP!!

When I put it in 4Low, the fronts don't spin. I don't suspect transfer case problems. If the hubs were messed up in front would it cause the fronts to not pull? How are the hubs supposed to feel? Right now they turn reeeeaallly easy and feel like I am only turning the plastic cover as if there was nothing behind it.

Re: Manual locking hubs question, HELP!!

If you put it in 4low does the front drive shaft turn?
If Yes then the problem is your hubs.
If No then the problem is you T-case.

PRAY it's your hubs (Kinda sounds like it anyway)

Re: Manual locking hubs question, HELP!!

okay I have it at a tranny place right now, they have the front shaft off and the rear lifted up. so with the d-shaft on if it was the hubs then the fronts (not even one) wouldn't spin AT ALL right?

Re: Manual locking hubs question, HELP!!

you should do this on the ground. the tires might spin on the rack with if you put it in drive because of friction, just not as fast. Put it on the ground and haves omeone watch your shaft while you drive it.

Re: Manual locking hubs question, HELP!!

I have no 4hi, just 2hi,N,4low. The 3&4 gears are high when in 4L.

It turned out to be the hubs. Thank god it wasn't internal.

My front driveshaft is shot though. Do they sell new replacements? Where can I get one? They quoted me $428 for rebuilding mine (??)

Re: Manual locking hubs question, HELP!!

I got a long travel made for my lift for $250 including shipping from sixstates distributers. It turns out it is a tom woods shaft. Heavy duty and well built. Direct bolt in.
