Ball Joint woes

Last September I purchased a McQuay/Norris balljoint for my 93 1/2 ton. Well last June the top cracked completely off and the broken balljoint ended up putting a 1/2" groove in the top of my spindle. I welded the groove up and machined it back into shape. Well I thought this was just a one time thing so I purchased a new ball joint of the same brand. Well today i was driving out of my driveway and as I drove over the 1" gutter the top of the new balljoint cracked off. So I finally bought a Dana/Spicer ball joint and we will see how it does. Just stay away from MCQY/NORRIS crap.

How does it feel to be beaten by a sewing machine?

Re: Ball Joint woes

MOOG suspension parts are the best way to go. I think Spicer is right up there, too. I've heard of other people having problems with McQuay/Norris junk.

If shortcuts were easy, they would just be The Way
