Pulling a code without scan tool, OBD2 ?

Is there any way to pull a code with an OBD 2 system like you can with OBD 1? I used to work a dealership and had unlimited acess to a tech2, now that i quit my ABS light comes on (in my car) and need to figure out what the problem is. Are there any affordable scan tools out there for obd2?

Thanks,
Ryan

From all the posts I've read and questions I've asked, you can not read (flash) the codes on any OBD2 vehicle. The cheapest reader I found was a Kragen for about $160 - which isn't too bad. Just call the lcoal shops and ask if they have 'em.

FYI, if you happen to have a palm pilot, they sell an obdII scanner attachement for 125 bucks. If anything, it would give you a really good excuse to buy a palm pilot! However I really know nothing more about this.

I've only found 2 palm-base scanners. One was $125 for the OBDI and the other (Diff company) was #300 for the OBDII. They also sell a palm-based scope for OBDII vehicles. Hopefully I can afford both. Otherwise a real scanner/readr programmer (Tech2) is in the thousands.
