Re: body lifts going on, finally

Yeah, I want to know how you make out too. Up untill about 2:00 this afternoon I was thinking about putting a 2" body lift on the Yukon and making those wheel spacers I was talking about a while back to give it a nice stance. But anyway, I went into town around 2 and saw a 2001 Chevy HD Crew-Cab Dmax with a 6" lift and 36" swampers.....anyway, after that the little body lift for the Yukon left my mind and now I want a HD!!!!

Let me know how it turns out though, still wouldn't mind having more room for the 285's on the Yukon.

Re: body lifts going on, finally

Im taken a break now. I was in Bucks Fourwheeler today and they happen to have one instock for my truck so I said what the heck. cost 140 plus tax, its the trail master lift. I just pulled the steering bolt and will throw the extension in when the blocks are under it. ya Ive got pics but its in the garage with just drop lights and flashlights, its taking longer than expected started at 5 its now 1030, and Im about half done.
So far the hardest part was getting the bed bolts out I didnt now theyr solid mounted unlike the cab mounts. I cooking a pizza and then Ill be back at it, I called a buddy over and we can almost get the body lifted with out using the floor jack, but Ill use it I think Ill lift from each mounting point one at a time? not sure though. Im not sure Im going to hook the parking brake back up right away, right now I just want to get it done.
I think ill throw the grill on and put the bumper on after work tomorrow, just so I have somewhere to mount my trun signals, but hey as long as I get the body bolted down tonight Ill be happy.
Cant wait for my nerf bars to get in they should hide the frame nicely, there frame mounted so Ill just mount them about 1" under the body, so the bars will be about were the body used to be.
Ill be running 35s as soon as I can find some used ones, or since its just money maybe ill get a set of street tires and use my 285s for winter

sorry so long
Evan

Re: body lifts going on, finally

just now getn the bed mounts all straight and running bolts through them man they are a major PINTA. Im putting the grill on now and will have bumpers back on sometime tomorrow, I glad I dont have the nerfs yet cause Id be up the rest of the night putting them on. and it looks like the rear bumper is in need of a deperate raise. looks so ugly.
later

that well, I had 10+ hours into everything and Im thinking about taking it off now, cause Im not to impressed with the finish, and the ugly frame sticking down.
