Dana 60 Rear

My 95 pickups 10 bolt rear is starting to get really bad and I need to replace it since I am selling it. I guess it doesn't like those 35's to much. Anyway, I was looking at the Boyce Equipment site and saw they have a rebuilt dana 60 rear for cheaper than a rebuilt 10 bolt rear. Anyway, is this axle the same width as my 10 bolt? I would really like to throw this axle under there instead of another 10 bolt but if it sticks out a mile or tucks the tires way under the bed then I won't.

Re: Dana 60 Rear

Not sure about the width but there are a few more things I was wondering about. First is the bolt patern. I don't remember hearing GM putting D60's in the rear of there trucks but Ford and Dodge both have but they have different bolt patterns than the GM's did.

The other thing I was thinking about was the ABS on the 95. Im not sure if there are any sensors or not in the rear brakes like there are on the front but if there is and the D60 doesn't have ABS I doubt it will work for ya.

Good luck...Personaly I think you should check out a 14BoltSF instead but thats if you were keeping it. Just go and get another 10bolt from a wreckers and throw it on. I can pick one up up here for under $500 and thats for a newer one.

Re: Dana 60 Rear

Yeah, I'll prob. go to a wrecking yard and dig up a late model 10 bolt and throw some new paint on it and put it in. Man, I'm fixing this truck all up (new exhaust, headers, cat, lift lips, new dash, new tires, etc) and I'm not even going to enjoy it. But, I was talking with a used car dealer and he said if with the stuff done I can get at least 13 for my truck.
