Durable paint?

Hey folks, Since I'm slowly strippin down the '85 K 20, I was wondering what is a good paint to use on things like the axle, frame and other componets that will see the road salt and muck here in NY. I am sandblasting the everything, and would like to shoot it on with my paint gun run off the compressor. Anybody ever tried that "Paint over rust" (por) stuff seen in some car and truck mags? I recall it being not cheap at all.. Thanks guys
The rebuild of the '85 K 20 has offically started tonight as I cut off the rusty bolts holding the rear bumper on

Re: Durable paint?

I am doing the gloss black por-15 on my frame, axles, and all drivetrain components. Maybe I will do the 4 link components and axles a diff. color. Not sure yet. Anyway, I have emailed quite a few people that have used the stuff and they say it's the best thing in the world so I think I will go with that. If you have ever been up close to a commercial jet liner and have looked at the landing gear and similar components, they are coated in a ceramic coating and this is similar to that.

Re: Durable paint?

Just wondering if you can spay it on? and if I have to sand blast the whole frame on my puller down to put it on or can I just put it right overtop of the enamal paint I already have on it.

Ryan, I think they do that at the pound before you bring it home.
