Worth buying?

Hi all, First off, I have a 85' Fullsize K20, which is pretty rusted, but I am familer with it. On the way home from my road test, I saw a 82' fullsize, 1/2 ton. Was in better shape then expected for its year. Cab is still in good shape except for rear corners. Some box rust, 4wd, lifted, dual exhaust, American Racing wheels. Not sure of the motor, althought the sign did mention it had some noise coming from it although it ran good. Whats a fair price to pay? He's askin $950 or best offer. My dad is pushing me to get a S-10, but most around here appear to be in even worse shape then this 82, with many many miles. The 82' has 73k. Good deal? Thanks!

Too many toys, not enough time or money!

NOT A GOOD DEAL! PASS IT ON TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

well, a good deal is what you consider a good situation for you. first, what do you want an S10 for? is it commuting and good mileage? or is it for another offroad toy?? $950 sounds like a great price for that truck as long as the truck is in reasonable condition. i'd say go for it. at the very least, you can use your drivetrain from your '85 and throw it into the '82. like you said, you're familiar with it and its rusty

If the body on it is better than the one you already have. (which it definetly sounds like it is) Than it's worth it! Just swap the good body onto the 85, Or swap your better running? Stronger drivetrain into the 82, Ether way you come out ahead in my book, And the price seems good to, (Although I'd try to talk him down to $5-700) So just go for it!
