14bolt sfra

now that i know i have this type of rear axle in my z, i have a brake question. now i haven't taken off the wheels to check things out (maybe 4th of july i'll get around to it), but what kind of brakes should i expect to have?

you think they might be what a 10bolt uses or what a 14bolt uses? it does have 6 lugs afterall. if i find anything out i'll reply to myself so you guys can know even if you're just curious and don't really care.

i'm asking cuz i feel it's time for some new pads.

Re: 14bolt sfra

They are 14bolt Semi-Floater 6-lug brake shoes that you want to get for it. What you might want to do when ordering the pads to make is simple for the parts guy and your self is to tell him you have a Light 3/4ton with 6 lug wheels. I say that because in the parts manual not all the 14bolt SF's show up for the 1/2tons and you might have to make and extra trip when you find out there too small. Remember too that when putting on those new shoes that its always good to have the drums turned down a little or buy a new set(there pretty cheap anyway) because you are spending the money on new shoes so you may as well make sure they seat good on the drums or your wasteing your money.

Good luck.....Ryan
