What is the biggest tire you can put on a 1988 GMC 1500 4x4?

well, the biggest tire you really want is a 285. its possible to put 305s but prob not worth it to risk rubbing, wearing down middle, etc... esp since you said its an almost street only truck. HOWEVER - since i read in your other post that you got some 16x8 rims, 265 is prob the biggest you can put on those. depends on what the backspacing is
