My friend has one of those universial 350 GM crate motors. Currently he has an edelbrock single plane intake and 600 performer carb on it. The truck runs great! you wouldnt believe it was stock (Other than hedders). He said his mileage is really horiable...like 110-150 miles to a tank, if he runs it real easy. Would he see an improvement if he went to a duel plane intake. I have 2 stock GM intakes, both from 305's one iron, the other alumnium. Any ideas on how these would affect mileage and performance? The truck is an 86 swb with 2" add a leafs, 3.73 gears, 4-speed stick shift, and 33" tires.

if he is going to use it for off-road and moderate driving get a dual plane intake. The Weiand Action Plus or the Weiand Stealth (high rise version) are awesome, plus they are opnly like $100 for a sb chevy in summit/jegs. Don't get a single plane. they are more for race engines that rap up to 9,000 rpms that a off-road/daily driver.
