Swing-out tire carrier

Does anyone make a frame or bumper mounted swing-out tire carryer for the Yukon/Tahoe? I don't want to fasten it to the body. If not, any suggestions for making my own? There's not enough room behind the back seat for two labrador retrievers and the full-size spare.

Re: Swing-out tire carryer

Go to http://www.coloradok5.com, go to the message boards, and do a search for "rear tire carrier". This subject was just covered recently and there is a nice unit being made by one of the guys who is a member or CK5 as well as an advertiser. Fredd is his name and his company is SEC - in fact there is a front bumper on the CK5 main dude Steve Fox's UAV Blazer - check out the site.

Re: Swing-out tire carryer

I went to the site but could not find the discussion you referred to. I did however see the picture of the front bumper - very nice. My intent is to have a swing-out tire carrier yet maintain my stock bumper. This is for a newer style Tahoe/Yukon.

Re: Swing-out tire carryer

I am looking for the same set up for my tahoe. I have a 2dr and that spare takes up a lot of space in the back. I was in Colorado last week and a guy had one on his tahoe but I wasnt able to catch up to him so I could get a better look at it.

Re: Swing-out tire carryer

I know that they have them on Blazers (the smaller ones)and full size F**d Broncos, amongst other trucks, but they are all body-mounted. There has got to be someone out there who has thought about this before, and created a frame-mounted swing-out carrier.
