Identifying Alternators

How do I identify a high amp GM alternator? Are there any special markings to look for? Thanks

Re: Identifying Alternators

GM alternators (Delco) have the current rating stamped into the side of the case and they will normally say something like 68A or 100A. However, if the alternator has been rebuilt or remanufactured, the rebuild shop normally grinds the rating number off.
