Freaky Rattling Noise

When my truck is in gear, but stopped, like at a traffic light, I hear a very distinct, very metallic vibration/rattling. My first impulse is that it is the torque of the engine bringing my dual exhaust in contact with the frame or tow package etc. But everything is secure when I get under the truck. When I was purchasing this truck I testdrove an identical make and model with duals on it and heard that noise--absolutely sure it was a sign of bad news I rejected that truck for my current ride. Anyone else experience this? Solutions?

Re: Freaky Rattling Noise

it could be as simple as a heat shield loose and rattling or something like that. let the truck idle and listen for the source of the noise. you can use a long screwdriver as a sort of stethescope if you find the right area. if you cant find anything this way, then maybe its something internal and can have that checked out

Re: Freaky Rattling Noise

Could be the Catalytic converter rattling, or breaking up
