Help with dual tanks

On my 78 k-10 it has dual gas tanks. Well the problem is that when iam on the right side tank the gauge reads the left but it is taking gas out of the right hand side tank. Same thing with the left side when i switch to the left tank the gauge reads the right tank even though its taking gas from the left tank. Anyone have any idea where the wiring is messed up. Maybe the switch or the solenoid under the truck?

Re: Help with dual tanks

I'm pretty sure you have two wires crossed at the solenoid under the truck. If you're swapping wires, be very carefull not to accidently apply 12 volts to the gas sender. They burn open quickly. That can be an expensive pain in the butt, not to mention possibly WAY more exciting than you really want

Re: Help with dual tanks

On my 77, the solenoid only has one wire. The senders from the tanks go directly to the switch. Probably crossed there.
