Gibson, Flowmaster, or Dynamax exhaust?

Okay, I've figured out that my cat is bad. Guy I work with gave me the name of a really good exhaust shop around here. So after I have my stock cat replaced with a Car Sounds 3" unit, the muffler is my next option. I want the most power I can get out of these 3, but would like some noise too. The 3" Gibson I have on it right now, and the 3" Flowmaster 40 series and 3" Dynomax UltraFlow is what they carry. Which should I use? Keep mine or one of the others? The Gibson is kinda quiet, so I will have no problem getting rid of it if it doesn't get any louder with the new cat. I want the most performance of the 3, with noise secondary. Any personal experience? I don't know much about the Dynomax stuff. Thanks for any help you guys can give. Oh yeah, and I'm not running it without a cat or muffler.

I have Dynamax on my truck, its an s-series so I can't reall tell how your performance would be changed, but thats what both of the local 4by shops told me to go with.

I have an 89 350 TBI...I run Flowtech ceramic headers, dual Hi flo cats, dual dynomax...sounds pretty good...power is up from stock... interior noise is minimal... I agree that too loud draws unwanted attention from the rwong folks...I ran dual Cherry Bombs when I was a kid...just another opinion...good luck...JD

Re: Gibson, Flowmaster, or Dynamax exhaust?

I have dual Dynomax turbos on my '97 K1500. They sound pretty good but are not too loud. I emailed Dynomax a question on which was louder, the turbo or ultra flo, when I was trying to figure out which one to go with. Here is what they said "If you wish to use Ultra Flo mufflers instead of Super Turbos, you will get less backpressure and greater CFM flow through them. The exhaust note will be deeper and smoother, but not much louder if even at all. In some cases, ultra Flos are actually quieter than Super Turbos."
Hope this helps.
