Anyone using an aftermarket VSSB?

We had the computer zapped on dad's '99 2500 diesel 4x4 to compensate for the 285s that replaced the girly stock 245s. Well, that recalibration didn't last too long before the speedo was off again. Anyway, I was thinking of buying a Vehicle Speed Sensor Buffer to fix the speedo/computer for good. Question is, do they really work? I figure $105 is fine to get the dang thing. The first recalibration at the dealer was $55, and I don't wanna have to go back every 6 months.

It should work because it isn't a program it is an actual device that plugs into the wire from the trans. that goes to the comp.

Re: Anyone using an aftermarket VSSB?

Functions of VSSB:

1) Transmission shift schedule

2) Speedometer (and thus cruise control) calibration

3) Anti-Lock brake speed sensing (pre-96)

Buy one. Make sure you measure tire diameter (height works per Superlift) EXACTLY as on vehicle. Insure you get correct gear-ratio code on glove box data tag. Refer to Superlift cataloge to find exact VSSB for your combination.
