Re: axles
First year was 88. I think you could still get an 88 solid front axle 1/2 ton truck. You could get IFS or solid axle 3/4 and 1 ton trucks until 91, it was the R series, K series where IFS. 91 was the first year for IFS on Blazers and Suburbans.

Thanks, Ray

Re: axles
In 88 all half tons had the IFS, I think light duty 3/4 tons too. All HD 3/4, and 1 tons went to IFS in 90 or 91, I can't remember which or if they were both available. In 92 the Blazers (Jimmies too) and Suburbans went to IFS. So 92 was the first year there were no solid axles in the GM stable. Hope this helps.

1992 Blazer Sport, 350 TBI, Gibson 3" cat back, 4L60, K&N, Rancho 3" lift, 285/75R16's on 16x8 Bajas

Re: axles
Ok 88 was the first year for IFS in ALL chevy trucks except 1-Ton Crew-cabs K-5 Blazers and Suburbans,Witch kept the old 73-87 body style and of course the solid front axel up until 1991,So 1992 was the first model year for IFS Blazers,Suburbans and Crew cab pickups.
