I have an '85 Chev SWB 4x4 P/U that has the "automatic" front hubs....I am fixing to swith over to the Warn manual locking front hubs. My question:

The NAPA parts book really wasn't clear as to whether I need to ALSO buy some type of conversion kit inaddition to the two hubs to make this work....Any information from someone who has done this will be appreciated...

On a chevy, you don't need the parts kit. I will let you know what the parts kit contains. 2 washers, and 4 nuts that are identical to the ones used on D44's or GM 10 bolt fronts. It has been a while since the last time I looked them up, but I think you only need the kit on auto hub F**DS. If you need the kit, buy Spicer parts, they are under $15 compared to Warn asking over $30. If I have time tomorrow, I will look up part# and prices and post them on this same thread.

You won't need anything. Just get the hubs and install em. You'll be glad you got them, auto hubs are JUNK.

I agree with FWP, just put them on. I took my auto's off last year and had no problems with the change over to manuals. Good luck and have fun!
