I can't wait to get behind the wheel of a new Duramax. I have spent a lot of miles in a 24-valve Cummins Dodge lately and know I will never buy a 24-valve Cummins. The 12-valve out pulls it, out runs it and gets significantly better fuel mileage when loaded.

With this said, I know the Duramax will blow all other Diesels out of the water.

Has anyone heard about the strength of the available 6-speed manual tranny yet? All I have heard about is the Allison auto.

<font color=purple>I'm not sure if it's the same model, but the manufacturer of the 6-speed is the same as the company making the 6-speed for Ford. It's supposed to be better than the NV4600 used by Dodge. You're not the first to say that about the 24V Cummins BTW. Seems odd that nobody would notice this during the development stages.</font color=purple>

I didn't hear anything about the 3600. Are they going to have the IFS front too? I heard that they might have solid axles. That would be awesome. With the Duramax the Allison tranny solid axles and of course being a Chevy these would be the ultimate trucks.
