The best performing brake pads are ?????
I am interested in replacing my worn OEM pads and am most concerned with stopping power and don't care about dust or super extended life. Is there anything proven better than OEM ?

Oh yea, the truck is a 02 Silverado 1/2 ton 4X4

Pads alone, I don't believe you would gain much besides all the hype of dust free/ metalic/ semi metalic/ heat reducing, mumbo jumbo. Just turn your rotors and get some pads from napa. Unless you want to drop some serious cash with fancy rotors and new calipers.

Go and buy the cheap pads from napa or one of them. And the reason I say buy the cheap pads is because they don't squeek and the are a little bit softer so they grab better and most of all they are CHEAP (did I mention that)
