Any used an Automatic Center Punch?

http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.d...tab=des#tablink

I found a similar piece at Sears the other day (it was the $11.99 version and non adjustable) and I thought this was a freakin godsend, for anyone that knows I only got un mano to use. What I like about the punch in thelink is that the tension is adjustable. My question on this is, how effective is the tension?

Along with needing to punch drill holes and whatnot, I also do leather work, and I'm undertaking a 1911 build. I think this would come in VERY handy to punch out frame pins, and if I could rig an adapter correctly, I could use leather punches with this as well.

What are your thoughts?

Automatic center punches are nice. Use to use one at the weld shop where I worked. They're great for 'transfering' the center of one hole onto another piece of plate, or tube.

I went ahead and ordered a set, along with my dial calipers. Figured they couldn't hurt and were on sale
