Help needed with truck alarm

When I bought my truck, there was an alarm installed on it. Previous owner said that he had disabled the system. Now, every once in a while when I go to start my truck none of the electric parts will work, no lights starter nothing. If I unhook the battery for a couple minutes then put it back on it will work. Now that wont even get it to start. There is a decal on the window saying "secured by satellite intercept systems" but I have no been able to find anything about this company. Any body have any ideas how I could disable and remove this alarm?

Re: Help needed with truck alarm

Its got a starter kill, which, even if the truck battery is unhooked, will not disable the system, only the remote can do that. I've gotten "starter-killed" by my truck before when things went arry. So I don't use my key fob to lock and unlock the truck much anymore.

There is a box, probably under the dash, that has a billion wires coming out of it. Overall, the thing needs a dedicated power source in order to remain active when the truck is off. So it's running off a constant hot, which in the chevy's 88-98, is either red or orange wire (I can't remember which). Be aware, there are a ton of orange wires! Anyhow, Jason is the resident alarm guru and can tell you better than I can, exactly how to permanently disable the system.

Any idea what system this is? No model #s on there? Check the alarm horn under the hood and see if its got any names on it.
