Chevy eng. id code

Ok maybe someone in here can help me.
I have picked up a chevy 4-bolt motor. The id code is "TJC"
but i cannot find it anywhere to tell me what this motor is. Size hp etc. Find all kinds of sites for car engines but not truck.
Ty for any info.

Re: Chevy eng. id code

Is the TJC from the front block pad under the alternator mounting? If so, most aftermarket manuals will decode the letters to tell what its intended application was. There should also be a date code cast into the block on the bellhousing flange, along with a casting number. These will tell you more about the block. The only sure way to tell its a 4 bolt main is to take off the pan.

Also try: mortec.com

Re: Chevy eng. id code

almost stock 350. don't know much about the motor i just got the car last fall.
it did need a crank so i replaced that and put new rings in, all new gaskets, a little port work myself etc. it has a cam which i have no idea what it is. i can tell you it don't like to idle good with it. lol.
it does run some good tho. has 4:11's too.
thanks
