mass air flow sensor

What is the screen that people talk about taking off? Is it difficult to do?

Re: mass air flow sensor

I have not done it, but it should be the screen located in the center of the MAFS it's self, where the air passes through. If you're going to do it, then I bet it will be pretty obvious once you have it off. In other words, think of the air passage that goes through the MAFS, and you will see a screen that covers that area.

Re: mass air flow sensor

yes it is easy to see...its the only screen thing in the whole intake assembly (air filter doesnt count.) i wouldnt remove it if it we're me simply because it doesnt impede the flow of air very much and its there tio act as a laminizer. this device is used to create laminar (as opposed to turbulent) air flow so that the idle air control valve can function properly. with this removed some people notice stumbling at idle speeds. but it wont ruin anything by not having it there
