95 locking diff. not working

Anyone had this problem? what did you do about it?
I assume this is the gov lock type?

It probably is a gov-lock, unless it's aftermarket. My guess would be about 99.9% sure it's a gov-lock.

If I remeber correctly the gov-lock has clutches that can wear, so they may need replacing in the unit. It happens over time, sometime sooner for others. If you don't want to tackle it, call a shop and ask what it will cost.

A gov-lock is just a posi-track, or limited slip unit. Understand that both of those terms mean the same thing. A gov-lock is a limited slip.

No, I have never had a problem with any of my gov-locks.. I think I'm the only person in the world.

prob her up on jackstands. yank the axles loose and pry the carrier out. replace worn parts as needed. its that easy. dont mess with the bearings on the carrier. yank it out replace clutches and stuff it back in and your good to go.

make sure you have tourgue wrench handy to snug the caps to specified tourgue. beg borrow buy or steal one as needed to get the job done.
