MPG

What MPG do you get? (what are your truck specs as well)

I get about 10-12.5 on my 1990 350 K2500

Re: MPG

I get about the same on my 92 K1500, 350.

I guess my brother is reporting almost 20 MPH on the highway with his 91 K1500.

My 92 2500 with a 350 and a 4L80E and 4.10 gears would get me about 14 tops, even after a fresh tuneup, and towing was closer to gallons per mile.

Re: MPG

57,### miles on '99 Tahoe 4Dr 4x4 w/350, 4L60-E, 3.73s & 245s; I used to get about 17.5 10,000 miles ago. Lately I'm down to 15.5-16. I've got all new O2 sensors (@ $122.00 EACH, you do the fusking math), recent plugs and whatnot as well. When it hits 58,000 it's getting serviced, tires rotated, and a new fuel filter. If I don't get my economy back I'm gonna get pissed.

Re: MPG

It's been so long since I have checked the actual MPG, but my 97 K1500 w/ 33's 4" susp. and vortec 350/4L60E, 3.73's get in the upper teens. My guess is that it still is.. since it still seems par with the last official check. The wifes stock 4wd 01 Tahoe, 5.3/4L60E, 3.73's gets up in that range too. I still have not done the official check on the 89 K5. I need to though, that sucker gets awsome mileage. I drive it a lot and it still seems like the gas is going to go bad before I can get it used up. I'm curious as to what type of mileage it's getting.. but I'm not complaining. Now if it will just stay in that range when I drop in the 4.88's & 38.5's... LOL.

Re: MPG

Used to have a 92 big Blazer, 350 w/5 speed and it got 20 on the highway no sweat.....maybe even a little more if I would slow down a little

My 98' Sub gets around 15-16 on the highway, again, I drive 80 or better most of the time on the highway, could likely increase by 1 or so if I would slow down...towed my 22' travel trailer to Kentucky last summer and got about 7.5 mpg....

My 03' Silverado HD with 6.0 liter gets piss poor mileage, about 13 highway. Haven't towed much with it yet but I imagine it will drop significantly. Will be pulling the camper to the Smoky Mountains this summer....

I was thinking about getting an HD beofre they changed the grill design, (must be 03?) and asked a guy that worked at my station what he was getting in mileage. He said he was getting 11 mpg, but he thought it may improve when it broke in, and his uncle who had an 8.0 was getting 12 mpg. I could not believe that.. in this day and age that's almost a crime that they were not able to do better than that. It put a stop to me thinking about getting one.. I'm not going to go backwards in mpg, that's about what I used to get in my old 77 w/ fulltime 4wd. Looks like I'll be keeping my 97 for a good long time.

I think I could get better mpg as well, if I didn't drive like it was the last lap at daytona.

Re: MPG

Yep....03' was the grill change...I didn't like it at first but it is growing on me....I had a 99' new body style for a while but got rid of it cuz the 5.3 liter was useless for pretty much anything and ticked like crazy every morning. I did dig that body style though
