Re: more power

Easiest ways: headers, cat back exhaust, bigger air filter. Is it in a fullsize truck? If so you're better off swapping in a 350 and doing mods to it, and not really bother with the 4.3, it lags really bad. You could still do cam/intake and get your heads re-done, but you'll probably be better off doing that to a v-8 than the v-6.

Re: more power

yes, you might be better swaping to a 5.7l. The 4.3 is a great motor but for a heavy fullsize truck it is not full of power.

Re: more power

i had this same dilemma about 6 months ago. ifigured out the cost of what i wantd to do with the 4.3 veersus the cost of building a 350...and i went with the 350. you can buy a machined block ready to do for about 3-400 dollars. a complete build kit with everything you need for the shrt block is about 300. and then you have to have heads and an intake. if you get an old block from a junkyard for say300 bucks. have it machined, but the master build kit, and all the extras...you at about 1,000 dollars. then drop it in and go
