Power steering eratic

Hey All,
My 97 Suburban will ocasionally, and only at speeds above twenty Five, Feels like the power steering goes from speed sensitive back to old style. More prominent when curving to the left. Its kind of a weird feeling cause all the sudden the wheel turns real easy while going into a curve. Is there some kind of proportioning valve or is it all internal to the pump. The guy I bought it from had the pump replaced. It was just inspected so I know all suspension components are ok. Any ideas?

Re: Power steering eratic

Replace the EVO modual. I have a 97 with the same problems only on left turns. It's located in the cab on the end of the steering column.(gray color) Tough little piece to find. Feel along the top of the steering column and feel for wire that leads right to the end of the shaft. To replace disconnect the steering shaft inside the cab(slide forward) disconnect the wiring, pull the modual and replace with the new one.

I think mine is messed up too, sometimes I have TIGHT ass steering almost kinda hard, and other times its realllly loose and sensative... Maybe its my pump or box, dont care right now, im sick of buying parts.
