transfercase ???

Has anyone upgraded to a stronger transfercase??
yeah i know it can be done with the 205 and such,
but what about the electric pulse trigger for the spedo.
or are there no other options but to use the same 241,
Do the borg warners in the heavier trucks use the same
system. its Time to start upgrading with 200,000
miles on it, Im suprised the 4l60e is still going with no
problems at all. But im thinking of a nv4500 in its place
and a stronger transfercase if possible, Because the 454
is going in to, Then next year or so the dana 60s and 14 bolt,

Re: transfercase ???

My BW4401 has put up with a ton of abuse from me and it just keeps going. It uses the same VSS as the 1/2 tons.

A 205 can be converted to VSS. You have to get the reluctor ring from the dealer from a 1991 V30 (only year to ever have a 205 with VSS) and it will slide right in place of the speedo gear on the output shaft. Then just modify the tail housing to hold the VSS instead of the threaded in speedo cable.
