Truck ID

the old owner of the silverado that i just bought said that it had the Z71 suspension option, but there is no decal running down the side stating so. he had it repainted to repair some highway pebble damage so its a believable story, but i was just wondering if someone could run the VIN and tell me what it is one way or the other. thanks

VIN# 1GCEK14K5NZ184081

Re: Truck ID

us looking up the vin won't give you an RPO code. look in the glove boxfor the RPO tag. if that isn't there, take your vin number to the local dealer and he'll run it and find out what options your truck has.

Re: Truck ID

Just to clairfy, Z71 is the actual RPO code, so look for that on the glovebox label.

Re: Truck ID

Easy to find out. See if it has Bilstein shocks (if the truck is new enough that they haven't been replaced), and skid plates on the front differential & the transfer case. There may be other little things too, but that's the bulk of it.
