Killing ABS light??

I don't have the ABS sensors hooked up anymore in the front of my '96 and the idiot light now stays on. I pulled the 60 amp fuse from under the hood thinking that would kill the light but its still on. Is there any way to get rid or it??

Thanks

Re: Killing ABS light??

If the light is no longer needed the I would take the bulb out of the dash. Please someone correct me if I am wrong but from what I am to understand the ABS light only comes on if there is a fault with the ABS system.

Re: Killing ABS light??

Get rid of the ABS module and plumb your lines through an older style proportioning valve. Best mod I've done so far, no more ABS light either... If your still using the stock master cylinder with a quick take up valve you don't know what your missing!

Re: Killing ABS light??

can be from debris build up on sensors at the wheels. can be due to bad sensors at wheels. can be due to low brake fluid level. lots of thigns can make that light go on. good scan tool can scan he brake system and find out what it is exactly

Re: Killing ABS light??

I had taken my 95 to a mechanic about this same problem.
He turned the light off on my 95 by unplugging the abs system. I guess its the computer or something. Mine is under the hood on the drivers side close to the washer fluid container.
I know this is what he did because I plugged it back in to see what would happen and the light came back on.
