Solid Axle Conversion

On a solid axle conversion on an 89 3/4 ton chevy do you have buy the cross over steering as well. Im looking at the oru swap kit. Didnt want to pay the extra $500 or so for the steering. Thanks

No, you don't have to buy theirs. It's easy to do by yourself. What axle are you using?? If your using a D60, then a crossover arm will cost you say $100. If your using ten bolt or D44, then you need to get a flattop pass side knuckle, have it machined flat, drilled and tapped. Not hard to do at a compitant machine shop. Depending on lift, you can use a stock arm off a 78-79 1/2 ton 4wd Ford. The draglink hole needs to be reamed alittle, but not much. Of you can buy the arm, for the same year Ford, for $55 I think. For the draglink itself, find an 80s K-5 or burban, with the three piece tierod. It will have a tube instead of one big long tierod. Get that shortened and threaded, new DLE and TRE, and you have crossover!!! (Not responsible for any missed parts) Go to my link below, there are some pics of crossover in there, I will try to get some better ones soon.
