Re: new exhaust

Get a new muffler? I like the tone of the 50 series flowmaster if you have a 350

Re: new exhaust

what exactly do you mean by poke a hole in my muffler....what size would be good for "poking" this hole and will this take my gas mileage down....I have a 1989 2500 Scottsdale 2X4 not sure of the engine size but think its a V8 5.0 Liter but not exactly sure

Re: new exhaust

is it really gutless? if so then its a 305. i didnt even know that they put the 305 in the 3/4 ton trucks. how liuyd do you want it? loud and mellow sounding or loud like you want to wake up the neighbors every time you pull into the driveway?

Re: new exhaust

gutless as in not as much power as one would like.
you're going to want to keep a muffler to make that ,mellow sound. the standard is the 40 series delta flow muffler becasue its fairly loud when on the gas, but quiet at highway speeds so you dont have to shout and crank the stereo all the way up.
ive run the delta 40s on a few trucks and iklike them, but my next muffler will be from magnaflow. i just prefer the sound a bit better.

Re: new exhaust

Either a flowmaster 40 series, or possibly a V-Force(by Flo-Pro). Both sound great at moderate idle, but wont rattle your cage on the freeway for long rides. Oh, and they put 4.3L engines in the 3/4 ton trucks all those years too
