Rock Sliders for 2-door Tahoe

I am picking up a 97 Tahoe 2-door on Friday!

So, now the barrage of questions begin...

On my previous vehicle (Trooper) I found tremendous peace of mind from rock sliders, no more cringing going over rocks. So one of the essential mods for me is a nice set of rock sliders...just did an internet search without much success, does anybody have a recommendation for Tahoe rock sliders?

Also, if I need to get them fabricated locally, pics of examples would be helpful.

your best bet is to make them yourself or contact IOR. Willyswanter would be the guy you want to contact. he makes some pretty beefy stuff.

Here is my question and I know its been discussed, are you going to rock crawl with this tahoe? I hope not only because of the ifs which you already know is weak from having a trooper

Re: Rock Sliders for 2-door Tahoe

Yeah, somewhat...not hardcore. Realistically it will be 95/5 daily driver/off-road. I will be happy if I can do, say, Steelbender at Moab, but I have no intention of doing Golden Spike. I have run at least a dozen trails at Moab with my IFS Trooper, mostly 3.5 rating, very successfully, so I think I know what I am doing...

Yeah we had a bone stock k5 on I think 31's follow us on Steel Bender. We got about half way through and he decided to park it and ride with me though... Thats a nice trail!

Re: Rock Sliders for 2-door Tahoe

Yeah I like Steelbender, lots of variety. I have done it several times in my 99 Trooper...I was trail leader on a group run last May at ZuZoo VI. If your buddy made it halfway, he should have been able to make it the rest of the way! As long as he got past that big sidehill ledge with no bypass, the rest is doable...

Re: Rock Sliders for 2-door Tahoe

Check out bentup.com. The guy lives here in Northern California and he did mine. They had to be custom and to my spec. I use a hi lift on them all of the time and I have dropped onto some big rocks really hard.
Mine look like this

They run tire to tire

Mine are also welded on.

Check out www.n-fab.com for rock sliders. they dont advertise for them on their website, but i called them and they said they would make me a pair for my 2-door tahoe for like 385 shipped in black powder coat, or like 450 shipped in the powder coated color of my choice. they seem pretty beefy...just another option.
